I bought this lure as it attracted my attention and looks so natural. It fills with water by the time you reel it back in and sinks! You squeeze it and all the water spurts out and it is ready to go again. I can not find a hole or any defect that causes it to fill with water. It will set and float without taking on water but when you begin reeling it quickly fills and sinks! Anybody else experience this? It is such a great looking frog with the legs and how it sets on the surface UNTIL you retrieve it. Any ideas?

Morning goldfish. Can you post a picture of the lure and the package?
I believe I have one of these, too. The plastic stretches around the hooks and the water gets in. Not much we can do about it as we need the body to collapse in order to set the hook. 🤷🏼‍♂️

You're correct OJ, that's why they put the hole in it, to drain it out.
All frogs have the hole.

All frogs have the hole.
I suppose the best tip is then to keep the rod tip high to keep the nose up and out of the water to reduce the amount of intake?
I have seen these on the shelf what is the proper technique for using?

Throw them up against the shore (if in a boat) and make it look like a real frog. Twitch and pause....give it a couple jerks to climb onto lily pads or weed mats, then pull off and pause. Bass will explode on them, but be prepared with heavy enough equipment to set the hook and to get them out of the weeds. They can be very entertaining!
Thanks for the info sounds like fun from the Kayak may have to pick up a few.
I have several different makes of frogs and yes they all take on water but this Lunkerhunt model fills up EVERY time and sinks by the time you reel it in. Other brands take several casts but not this Lunkerhunt. Just wondered if I had a defective frog or is true with every Lunkerhunt?

I have one but haven't thrown it in a while, I don't remember it being a problem though.
Just my luck to buy a $9.00 defective lure! I have checked it over closely and can’t find a “hole” or place for water to get in. Cast it and it sits just great in the water. Start retrieving and by the time it gets in it is full of water and sinks, EVERYTIME! It is such a natural looking frog and the legs act perfect. I am not giving up on it. Anybody out there with experience using this Lunkerhunt Lunker Frog please respond with your experience observations. Too good looking to give up on. The suggestion to hold the rod tip up while reeling is my only hope at the moment. Will let everyone know if this is “an answer” next time I am out on the water.

Post a picture of it and perhaps we can figure it out. I will check mine as well, but I believe the water is coming in near the exposed hook portions are?

This has been confirmed on both of mine and many others of similar design.
Also don't forget where the hook eye sticks out in front.
