Did you think it was a flote?

I thought it was a DIY popper. Like those prepackaged snapper poppers.

Thought this was a popper plug, but the plastic core down the center isn’t hollow. It is weighted. The black plastic post down the middle is a solid piece. There’s a little red cap on the top but it doesn’t cover any opening/tube to allow for a line to pass through. I’ve no idea how to rig this.
Hoping for some help.
What is this? And how would I use it?
Thank you!

THANK YOU!!! I c now ... the line simply wraps around the post and creates friction against the styrofoam. That’s how it stays in place.

Maybe but I also can’t tell how to secure it in place to position it as a float.

Pull out the peg, stick your line through the float, peg it in place by pressing the black peg back in

Seemed fixed, like glued in place but I’ll check it again when I get back to the house, thanks.

ITS A SALTWATER FLOAT FOR TROUT ETC...
We use it for sea trout and reds. It is a popping cork. You it just like a popping lure. Great for using it in the winter when we fish for striped bass. Works great! You just got to learn how to pop it!
