I have a 2013 Nissan Armada with 2WD, Michelin LT 265/70 R18, All-Terrain tires, and I tow a Seidelmann 25 with a dry weight of 4600lbs all over the SE, including up and down these North Georgia red clay slick asphalt ramps, without any problem. I believe in All-Terrain tires. And Discount Tire stores. You really would not believe how well they have treated be for almost 20 years.

I understand that you use All Terrain tires and like Discount Tire stores. Why AT rather than All Season?
Ok, for me it's just a personal preference. The lakes I fish here get drawn down in the winter. Usually, there is some concrete ramp left after draw down. Not always. Some years we launch on dirt, mud or even snow.
Also, we can still drive on some beaches here in Oregon to surf fish.
My driveway is about 250 feet long, uphill most of the way, with a dogleg right(Kinda like a Par 3 golf hole). When it rained, with a few leaves on the pavement, even my Jeep Grand Cherokee would slip in 2WD, with All-Season tires. Not with All-Terrain. And every ambulance I have driven for the last 30 years has had Michelin All-Terrain tires. They are stupid expensive, I admit, at like over $600 a pair, but I have been to a few car down the ramp in the water calls, and I never want that to be me.

OK. That's specific. Thank you.

It’s one of those...it’s better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.And that would be better traction. IMO...🐟on
In 2016 I put a set of firestone transforce AT ten ply tires on my tacoma. This year I will have to replace them not because their worn out but they are starting to dry rot.

I too have been a big fan of Discount Tires. I see now that they have changed to durations and conditions of their after market service plan. I guess I will have to shop around next time.

Yes, that is what I am accustomed to for 30 years and what I expected last week. No longer so. The replacement period is now THREE YEARS ! They made some changes to the flat repair & rotation feature too. There was a sign posted in the store. Here is a video of a cute blond telling us how we've been screwed. I would have walked out but it took them 10 days to assemble a set of tires so I just needed some tires at that point. I am not saying they aren't still the best, just that I am going to shop around.

Well, it’s an option to purchase the warranty at Discount. Where as with most other tire dealers, they increase the price of the tire and tell you what a wonderful warranty comes along with it. So I’ll stay with having the choice to purchase or not...🐟on

If the tires are not worn out you don't need new ones. Definitely do not need all terrain tires. All season but not all terrain. Boat Ramp is NOT snow or MUD.
Well Jeremy, then again you have idiots like me that do more than tow a boat with my 4WD and use AT tires.
