I have not heard of any Tires made in America in DECADES. Might be American owned or an American that owns the company. You will find Tires are made overseas.

Yokahoma plant has been in our town for several years now, they produce local made tires

My tires are stamped “made in America”. Both Coopers on my truck and the Goodyear’s on my 5th wheel...🐟on

Walmart has a bunch of things that say American made with a US flag on the packaging. You open it and look on the actual merchandise and it says China or Korea

Well, this says we still make tires in America.

I just got a 2009 Nissan Frontier and the tires will need to be replaced as they are the originals with a 2008 data code (!). I tow a Bass Tracker infrequently so not much time pulling up boat ramps. Concrete ramps are typical.
Are you guys using All Terrain type tires, All Season, or what?
Thanks for your experiences.

Your in Florida and most ramps are concrete, All season would do you just fine. If your Frontier is 2WD only, you may want a slightly more aggressive tread like an all terrain. With that said, make sure you are buying an "LT" tire of at least a 4 ply rating for your Nissan. DO NOT buy the cheaper "P" metric tire. Those are passenger car rated and have a softer sidewall for better ride quality. The stiffer sidewall of the "LT" will help with a bit of sway in the rear.

Cooper. Cooper tires are manufactured in places like Finlay, OH, and Texarkana, AR.

Goodyear. Goodyear produces tires in places such as Dansville, VA, and Topeka, KS. ...

If the tires are not worn out you don't need new ones. Definitely do not need all terrain tires. All season but not all terrain. Boat Ramp is NOT snow or MUD.

Just an FYI - Saltwater ramps at low tide are slicker than snot.

Foreign tires just like cars are imaginary! Unless you are buying directly from the manufacturer which as a consumer is unlikely in the extreme they are coming from an “American” business. The most profit on any product is for the reseller. So in essence anything sold here is American.

Cooper Tires manufactures its tires in three different states, supporting local economies. They have production facilities in Findlay, Ohio; Texarkana, Arkansas; and Tulepo, Mississippi. Cooper also operates a facility for producing components of tires in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The company’s corporate headquarters is also located in Findlay, Ohio.

And you must then believe that they source their raw materials only in the US eh? The world is so interconnected buying nationally is not an option except in an imaginary world!

Ok...help me understand. 2009 pickup and tires have a 2008 data code? What does that even mean? Get some Goodrich AT radials.

Easy to understand - the tires carry a code showing they were made the 32nd week of 2008. The truck is a 2009 model which means it was manufactured some time between mid-2008 and mid-2009 as most models are introduced prior to the calendar year.

But back to my question - WHY do you recommend AT radials as opposed to an All Season light truck tire?
