just looking to connect with others that prefer non-trout fishing in or near the colorado springs area (w/i 60min drivetime). ie: palmer lake, woodmoor lake, monument lake, forest lake, wolf lake, pikeview res, prospect lake, quail lake, willow springs ponds, and any other spot that might be worth an hour of two...even if only for bluegills, yellow perch, & bullheads.

Welcome aboard Marcus. Is there a problem with trout fishing?

to me trout are bait. ;)
prefer the warmwater species for eating.
also, they tend to be less fussy & heartier.
i'm just not very much a trout person.

All the places you mentioned are good. If you go to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife site, they have an app that you can download which will give you all the lakes, the species of fish in the lake. I'm from Colorado Springs too.

Go to https://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/Fishing.aspx

The app is listed there. We travel during the winter, I'm retired. We will be back in the Springs for Easter. Perhaps we can get together after Easter.

Thank you for your service.

Tight lines.
