Kevin should contact his cell provider and ask for a range extender.
If they tell him that it will cost $$.cc/mo, he should tell them that it is there responsibility to provide adequate service to their users. If they still refuse, he should consider another provider.
When my son had bad service at his house, he got a range extender at no charge.

You're correct GSM, it's also a safety issue. What good is a phone that you can't call for help on, 911 or whatever. If it doesn't work when you're home, what good is it?

Funny that you guys mention that he was actually contacted My Verizon they wanted to put Towers on his property and pay him I think it was 3500 a month he told them hell no

The good news: $3500/month for a new boat, insurance, new truck, etc.
The bad news: his wife and 50 of his closest neighbors would never forgive the eyesore of a big ugly tower!

I think I would have taken the deal. Make an agreement that they use one of the "Tree Camo " towers, and rake in the $42,000 per year. Would provide for new vehicles, boat, awesome sportfishing vacation, or just early retirement. Money doesn't get much easier.
