Can’t answer that about fresh water in Cocoa. Theres a salt water fishing area though, might have a good time with using some live shrimp near a bridge at cape Canaveral.

Your right closr to the St. Johns River which has some large lakes on it. Got to be something in there.

Salt or brackish water in Cocoa Beach.
Head west on 520 and you can shore fish the St. Johns River. Great bass fishing.

There's a pond up behind the Merritt Island mall side a Veterans Memorial a museum that has monster largemouth bass Tarpon tilapia in a few other species as well as snakes and alligators so watch out I caught a seven and a half pound largemouth one week ago there and could see tarpon rolling around on the surface from Cocoa Beach it's a 10 15 minute ride not even
