You keep it? Some folks say Bonnetheads are good eating if prepared properly. Tons of them along the hard bottom off Apollo Beach

What's that rig you were using, some kind of Pompano jig?

They are good I have ate blacktip, san, and Bonnetheads. I like steaking them and grilling them. I have smoked them and took them to my friends bar and never had to carry any home. According to this book on smoking fish they are not good for smoking but I know they are. I have ate them chunked and fried too it was good.

Gut it and stake it. Thats the only shark I keep. Mako would be my next but never caught one. Stakeing it you can get a lot more red out of it.

ya, I'm thinking half day in brine with a medium temp smoke on my pellet smoker should do the trick. will be my first.

Ammonia. There is things to do to help get rid of the ammonia. I have had really good shark in a restaurant before in Carlsbad Ca.

Just don't eat the gray line down each side. I often steak them out letting the skin on on the grill and it pulls off and you will see the gray line just like all fish that dark strip not good to eat. same same.

Set nice Green, I’d love a shot at catching any Shark. I get one that size and I’ll be headed to the TD. I’d love to have one on the wall that I caught to look at everyday. Thanks for the pic! Enjoy

That's it, shark urine is not expelled thru a port, it's absorbed into their flesh and eventually out their skin. That's enough make me puke and never eat any shark
