Hello! So I have 2 kayaks set up to kill some fish! One is a hobie pro angler set up with Bixby motor, fish finder, down rigger. The other is an sportsman 120 with auto pilot, fish finder with livescope, down rigger . I live in the Portland Oregon area and I’m looking for some Veterans that would like to go do some Kokanee fishing. If anyone is interested drop me a line. Thanks, and tight lines!

Yea I’ll keep you in mind, you know what’s crazy is I ran an add on Craigslist for the same thing and all I really got was people hating me for killing fish!! Had people threatening me even had a nut bag show up to fish and just wanted to talk me out of killing fish, I eat what I catch, just don’t understand people these days.

Wow! Some people just need to keep their feelings to themselves. To each there own, right?!
I practice CNR for many species of fish. If I am in the mood to keep any for food, I do. I follow the rules and regs for limits and do nothing illegal.
I also take a trash bag with me when I go kayak fishing to pick up after everyone else who have no respect to the outdoors :-(
Sometimes I take pics of the trash I pickup along with the fish I catch then post them :-)

If you plan to get up Bellingham, WA, we can go out on LK Samish. The kokanee are not big, but usually cooperative. May an June they can also be caught just off the launch at Lake Whatcom. Again they are small, but cooperative and not deep until July.

Hi, yea I catch and release as well, and it’s funny you say you take a bag and pick up trash, I went to a big lake where I live yesterday and went kayak fishing, didn’t catch anything worth talking about but came back with a bag of plastic, from bottle to sandwich bags! Sickening! Then I get back to the dock and someone left a big pile of garbage on the beach by the boat ramp. Again I just don’t understand people, makes you wonder what the property looks like! Haha

Are you on the TFO page? Tons of vets want to go fishing. Where are you Kokanee fishing? I am about 40 N or Portland in Kalama and have my Kayak set up for Kokanee also. I have not Kokanee fished from it yet. I have Merwin and Yale about 45 min from me but the wind can really pick up at both places.

Hi, sorry what is the TFO page? Yea I go to Merwin and Yale a lot, Yale was where I went a couple days ago, the bite is still pretty slow for Kokanee, thought it would be better, I’m going to try Merwin this weekend, the fish are a lot bigger there than Yale. Have you fished Merwin before? Oh! Have you kayak fished Kress lake? It’s a fun lake to fish because they stock it really well and they plant a lot of steelhead in there as well.

I am a few miles from Kress and fish it all the time. Catch and release. TFO is The Fallen Outdoors, national Vet outdoors page. I have not fished the other two lakes in a Kayak yet, just once in my boat but most of the time with other people.
