Down here for a week. What fishing is active and what kind of rig and bait setup is good right now?

I was there last Thursday and Friday. Fished from the surf, bottom rigs with fresh shrimp and mullet I froze last fall. Not a bite. I hope you have a better result. I saw birds dive bombing for bait off shore but it was way too far out to get a line. I've been watching the pier cams and the only thing I've seen caught was off the end of the pier so they're probably too deep to catch from shore. But a little warm weather can change all that.

Maybe try Blue Crabs cut in eights. I'm 250 miles south of you and we are seeing large black drum right now. Our water is only 60° after dropping from 65° last week due to lots of rain a wind. Your water temp at Myrtle Beach is in the mid-50s right now but should warm in the next couple of weeks. Check out this article on how to pick a spot to fish. https://ameliafishbites.com/where-to-surf-fish/ Tight Lines.
