Careful what you wish for. I may be headed your way next summer on an extended fishing trip. I sure would like to fish cleat lake.
Do you mean THIS summer or summer of '22?
2022. I did not plan any long trips this year due to the Covid uncertainty. The only exception is driving my daughters household goods from Alaska. She is moving back to the lower 48 just nine years after her planned six month adventure to Alaska. As a matter of fact, I am in Alaska now helping her get her house ready to sell. Brrrrr! 3 degrees last night when we went down to the inlet to watch the Northern Lights. What spring??? Global warming??, Spring break up? I am sure glad the Alcan has wind, blowing snow and drifts so that we have to come back during fishing season to get her stuff. It might be my last trip up here after guiding 15 consecutive years and living here on and off over the past 40 years.

Wow, I would love to fish Alaska. I've never been there.
I said "May be heading your way". I should have said will be heading your way unless health or other unforseen issues prevent it. The only big issue now is deciding if I should pull the boat with the Motor home or pickup and camper. Life is so tough on my poor little brain!
Great to hear from you. One of my sons lives near Kenai so am familiar with of which you speak. He enjoys the cold weather but me, not so much. Born and raised near Adirondacks in northern NY. Moved to California in 1960.Had a brain fart in 1990 and we moved back there. Stayed till 2004 and came back to Ca. and goy warm. Never want to see 20-30 below again. That period from 1990 till 2004 was the longest and coldest thing that anyone should have to experience.
I just want to ad that I'm in the cusp of my fishing career. Health issues are getting greater each day. Any day may be my last fishing(hopefully not too soon) ,

If I was not so broken up and now more susceptible to cold, I would still live in Alaska. I also enjoyed Maine, and Northeast U.S. for a while when I was in my late 20's. I must agree, the cold is for the young.

I am in my 70's, I sold the Harley Road King and settling down to grown up activities. I may even have to sell the wind surfers in a few years if I lose my help getting them down to the water.

I gave up. lol
I have two very young grandsons that that will not let me give up until I totally drop.
You are very fortunate to have the grandsons close to you. I have grandsons and now gr-grandsons but they are scattered all over the country and none any where near me. Enjoy yours while you can cause they sure do grow up fast.
Changed my mind. Don't want or need anyone to go fishing with me. I originally stated i fished Englebright and Bullards bay and would gladly take someone who didn't have a ride. I got ekind of reply in the world about where people wanted to fish, not one of the 2 lakes I said I fished. I got all kinds of replies also about fishing on other peoples boats. but not one who said they didn't have a way to go out on boat and would appreciate the offer. So, gonna do it my way. Without others. Sorry , but this is how the world has became so unappreciative.
T1.... I'm thinking one of your replies was directed at me. Because I didn't understand what you were saying, I ask questions that will hopefully help me better understand. I'll put aside your judgements and comments to simply let you know that until you stated you were just trying to take someone fishing that doesn't have the opportunity to fish from a boat, I did not have that understanding from your initial post. And as much as I want to say it, I'll just suggest that in your comments regarding the things that are wrong with the world today, there is one that you missed.

Thays1, I'm so sorry that you feel that way. I wish i could have been closer to you. I'm fairly new to fishing. I bet I would have learned so much from you. Damn my luck. If I was closer I'm sure I would have taken you up on your very generous offer. The whole world is not bad. If I get up your way, may I contact you?
