Real good.

Thanks Oz, i believe many will be able to relate to this one.

Funny how a conversation with a someone i have yet to meet that we can have similar ones that we miss in our lives.

Along with some sisters.

I appologize to our sisters here on the stage for not being PC on the brotherhood mentioning.

But something tells me that the few sisters that we have here, will understand the meaning behind it all.

That's what we do here on the stage Griz. Make em laugh, help when we can, Listen and empathize, and be there when someone needs lifting.

I call it Brotherhood.

For sure. So many stories so much experience to share. New members eager to learn. Many yrs ago i started picking up rods n reels people want to throw away. I'd take them home clean them up put new line on make sure they worked well. Find a kid to give them to. A few hooks n split shot. Tell their mom n dad to take them fishing. Most i never saw after that but I'd like think that kids learned to luv fishing

Excellent thought Plum. It reminds me of the loss of a coworker/riding and fishing buddy 15 months ago, and of course Mr Twister, last year.
Grizz, your addition should serve as a blueprint for the young guys, because once time is gone, it's gone.

Truer words were never spoken Plum. My advice to the younger members. TREASURE every day you're given. Spend every minute you can doing what you enjoy with your loved ones. Many of us have shared stories of wishing we had spent more time do just that. For members with younger children. Give them every minute you can. Danger comes to mind. He has a lovely family n seems to do alot as a family. We can pick up about everything we drop or replace whatever we lose.We can't do either with TIME.

Thanks plum and griz. Really good post today.

This tread is great example of the mentoring I receive from you gents... n gals... at FS. I lost my dad few years ago and still feel the want of spending more time with him. Despite me spending all my free time with him growing up as we did everything together being the youngest boy. As an adult I would of loved to spend more time with him. I cherish my family as life has thought me they can be gone tomorrow. Thank you FS family for all your support in life and not just fishing. May God bless you all.

El this is a place filled with good people. Many of us have shared similar experiences and understand what it feels like. It's definitely more than just a fishing site that we expected it's also a support group. Men n women that will share not only fishing info but life in general. I know I'm glag i logged on n stayed long enough to discover all FS has to offer. You had a great dad. Some of us had just the opposite. We've all suffered loses n can relate.

Ditto your reply griz. I feel the same way. I joined to get fishing information and found a whole new family that is able and willing to share your ups and downs. And the joking around really makes my day. πŸ˜€

You are definately not alone in your thoughts. I came here searching and was immediately welcomed. People I have never met have become a family. You scored.

I was talking with another FS member the other day and the topic went to those that we missed in our lives.

Our similarity was one from the past and one presently. Then i saw what is said below.

sometimes people think i'm talkin to myself when it's really someone beside me , usually My Mom .

1st member i connected with was Plumbob. He's a good guy. Then i started sharing with others. Amazed at how many of us have but happy time time n times of loss. Be it a loved one or a pet. Some had great dads so terrible dads. Several of us have been granted a 2nd chance at life with blended families. Step children that are not considered any less than our own. Grandchildren that keep us young. Families like Danger with his wife n 3 daughter's. Young n old but young at heart all eager to offer advice or n ear. I could go on but i think you have a handle on it πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
