Do you get more snags back with a kayak?

I fish in a river for smallmouth bass a lot. But unfortunately I snag a lot and often lose my lures. I plan on getting a fishing kayak this summer. I’m hoping that if I get snagged, I can just paddle over to where my lure is stuck and have a better chance at getting it out. Has this been the case for any of you who fish in snag prone areas?

Never fished in a kayak but shouldn’t be any different than fishing out of a boat. I usually get my snagged up lures back when fishing from a boat.

Yep a lot easier to approach the shallows if your snagged by the shore line. As for deeper snags you will be able to get the rod tip down closer to what has you caught.

Yes it is better. Some ( most ) paddles have a notch in them to slide down the line to the lure and help pull the lure out when you are shallow. Be careful though, it can be a little challenging in swift water.

Go to amazon and get one of those lure de- snaggers they work great when something expensive gets hooked up and you don't want to lose it. I can't remember the proper name for them but someone here will know what it's called.

Best part about fishing in any watercraft. Get more stuff back get to better fishing spots n easier to get away from people.

those desnaggers have a chunk of chain on them so when you slide it down your line, you just wiggle it onto your lure and then pull up on the attached rope.Or you can go with a telescopic pole that has a spiral wound on the end which you twist over your line, feel it down on to your bait, give it a tug...there ya go.
