I troll 1 OZ Rattle Traps in the bleeding heart series in either the blue or brass color. We troll at 5 mph with 180 feet of line out. Usually works great. The lures are goin bout 10 +/- feet deep.

Will give em a try..have actually never caught anything on a rattle trap. But didn't have a good boat for trolling...my yozuri is bleeding red at the front to white...if yer getting that big on rattles give a six inch yozuri a try...might upsize yer catch? I'll try yours out and see how I do... I'm in sue's boat right now think it's a torn rotator cuff but when I hit that bad place feel like puking hurts so bad.been a month not getting better..set the hook yesterday, almost screemed out loud. Fish on brother..I'll catch up soonπŸ‘πŸ¦ˆ

That plug you have in your pic would work great also. Our river isn't deep enough usually to run deep divin lures like that. We do use the fast track Rebel lures, but they don't make them any more. You have to get them off ebay or somewhere. They work reallt good too butthey run down to bout 11 to 12 feet , so we can't use them except when the tide is higher. We're usually trollin in 10 to 12 feet of water. During low tide it sometimes is as shallow as 8 feet and we are hittin the bottom with 180 feet out and have to shorten it up to bout 100 to 120 feet out. Still try to go 5mph though.
How deep is your river? Our max is only bout 15 feet and not very much of the river is that deep. Have to go down to Pappas and below to find water that deep. We try to stay above Pappas.

Yes, I would think that 180 ft of line is an awful lot, and would cause you to hit the bottom unless the lake was a lot deeper...Just Sayin.RJS

Yea Robert..I'm using 30lb braid...I run my yozuri out about fifty to sixty ft to reach fifteen depth..but they are deep divers..I don't think rattles dive very deep so you'll need all that extra to get down...he's kickin' butt with em..so I'm all inπŸ‘πŸ¦ˆ

180 feet at 5mph with a 1OZ Rattle Trap puts your lure right about 10 feet deep,+/- a little dependin on which way you're goin. With the current or against the current.

Yep, when we're runnin Rattle Traps. But the Rebels have a lip on them for goin fast through the water. That's why they track so well at 5 mph. They dive down to bout 12 feet also. Rebel jointed Fast Track lures.
