Never fished the canal but looks interesting. Have the Bass moved North?
Is it over till they return? When might they pass through heading South? Looking forward to learning a new spot to fish. Any help would be πŸ‘ great
Thanks

All canals are not the same. As asked need more context. Location, fish type, by land, craft, etc etc etc.

Okay that should get you some hits. For me I don't know your area, however I have been getting the striped bass here in NC on top water skitter walker and with a popping cord with the plastic bait varying depending on the celerity of the water. Most hits have been by docks and feeding frenzies in the river.

Best but check out one of the many tackle shops in the Cape Canal area. They are sure to have much information. The Cape Canal is heavily fished and competitive. I have heard rumors that the Mass Econ Police are ramping up on the illegal poachers in the area. Make sure you are properly licensed. There are length and creel limits this year. I haven’t been able to make it this year do to a knee injury which makes the canal too dangerous for me to navigate and bad bursitis in the elbow kind of makes casting anything heavier or longer than a moderate or moderate light freshwater rod painful if not impossible. Live bait or recently bait has always worked best here.
