I use chubs for cats, the way i do it is just cut them into 1 inch cubes and run a hook through the skin. It may be different for using bluegill, but i hope that helps

Use live bluegills or cut shad.

I usually cut the tail off and toss that bit, depends on the size of the hook but usually 3rds or cubes

If you cut them, be sure to clip off the dorsal fin on your center section, so it won’t foul your hook set,,lost a big one couple weeks ago by not doing that
I’ve found bluegill heads to be effective. Second best us the next inch of body, top to bottom and innards of the bluegill. When available, crawdad tails are usually hammered by channel cat. Once cut bait has been sitting in the water for a while, consider stepping on it slightly to release more bodily juices.
Wat about gizzard shad?
Will they catch cats
Don't cut em up. Use em whole, if it's bigun's that you want, then use blg bluegill.
Does shrimp work well for cats
Never tried shrimp but don't see why they wouldn't
