Snook fishing in St. Petersburg varies moderately throughout the year. High season is June to August. Low season is January to February and November to December. There is no closed season.

Woe, hold on there Gordon. Help me understand. I've got the FWC stating the Snook are off limits till at least May 2021 as part of the moratorium due to Red Tide and then the season is closed on Snook from May 1 thru Aug 31. Last I looked St. Pete's is in the Southwest Region of Florida. I'm thinking the Florida Fishing and Wildlife Commission trumps a fish booking web site. What am I missing?

I see what you mean Sun Bum. Looked at three different articles and got three different answers. Look at this one.

When is Snook season in Florida?

Snook is managed by two regions in Florida: Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Regulations apply in state and adjacent federal waters. No commercial harvest or sale of snook is permitted. (state and adjacent federal waters, includes Lake Okeechobee and Kissimmee River) Season: Closed Dec. 15-Jan. 31 and June 1-Aug. 31

FWC is meeting this month to discuss the potential reopening of snook, reds and trout. Great news if it happens !

They meet every month! What makes you think they will open Snook? They might let us keep a few trout and or a Redfish. Not Snook.

This is simply a petition to FWC from some group named the Marine Fisheries Management and has no power to change anything regarding this matter. FWC has the final say, nothing has changed until they make a decision.
