Do any of you find yourselves carrying certain flies always but never utilizing? I have a few flies that I always have with me but never fish. Am I the only one?

Not only no, but heck no...you're not the only one -- not by a long shot. I find that I carry
fly boxes that I don't even open ;-) I tie almost all my own flies, and have a few that
always produce. I buy flies from time to time...compulsive I suppose, and there are a few
of those patterns that I do use. Like almost all fly fisher folk...I have way more "stuff"
that doesn't get used very often.

I carry around a whole box of dry flies I hardly ever use. Not only do I carry around flies I hardly use, I also carry a reel spooled with floating line that I rarely use. I don't fly fish all that often and when I do I usually use a sinking line and a streamer like a muddler minnow or a wooley bugger or an egg pattern.
