Micro Power Pole?

Has anyone had any experience using a power pole on their kayak? I've been thinking of installing one on my Pro Angler and wondered if anyone has any insights. Do you think its worth it compared to just using a stake out pole? Any downsides or things I should know about or consider first?

I have one I use on my sea ark 16’ center console. Works good on a small lightweight boat. I’ve heard of guys using them on big bass boats, but I wouldn’t use it for my big nitro. For a yak, there will be down sides. 1: a battery, and connections. You have to figure those logistics...2: if the fiberglass pole is not deployed or not down far enough, it can interfere with your casting ability....3: where to stow the pole on your yak when you don’t have it in the roller box....4: youryak should have a flat side to screw the mount to ......when I’m using my yak, I either use a stake out stick (4 ft broom handle) or I have an old Garcia reel spooled with 600# twine material that is hose clamped to a piece of clothes pole attached to my yak crate. The other end has a metal squeeze clamp that I can attache to limbs or stumps. I use it for deeper water and can adjust my distance from whatever I’m attached to. I also keep a bicycle tube ( deflated) that I can attache to the clamp and drop it over bigger stumps if I need to. My 2cents.

I have one on my pro angler, I do use it a lot, also have an anchor system, it will only reach and secure your yak in 6-7 feet of water. It is remote controlled and it does have it place. I have 2 pro anglers but now I went to the sportsman 120 with auto pilot, it comes with a built in min koto with spot lock and auto pilot, cruise control, I have not been back in my hobie at all! Lol Oh and they are cheaper than the hobie and way more stable.
