Video would not work for me. Although I have launched my boats by myself many times. It really is not difficult. Prior to backing trailer I will tie a long rope to the boat and back to a dock. After backing trailer, boat floats off, pull trailer up, and pull boat to dock. I have used that process on boats from 18' - 30'.

Most ramps i use don't have a dock close by. I use a good 50' rope tied to front of trailer or back of truck. Make sure you use good clips or tie good knots. Pull up till boat nudges ramp. I use a short metal rod to tie off till i get parked

Yep grizzly17 you got it. So simple. That YouTube video makes launching look pretty clumsy and difficult.

Thanks gmckayak. Seems like people tend to over think things. Have a great fishing season

How about those guys that have remote control trolling that puts the trolling motor in water automatically by remote and drives it to the shore or dock. They don't even get out of the truck. Its awesome but I'm to cheap to buy it. Fun to watch.

I agree with that. With my luck the darn thing would multifunction and my boat would be heading down the river. I'll stick with my rope. The money invested insome of the rigs could buy a small house.i knew a guy that had a small boat small motor. He bought a bigger boat bigger motor. That didn't relate to bigger catches or bigger fish. Some of the stuff is just fun to have

I have never met a boat owner who does not know what the next one will be. Bigger is not always better, but some times safer. I felt much safer on the ocean when I upsized from 18' to 23', and then again from 23' to 30'. Now that I am not guiding and do not go on the ocean as much, I have downsized back to 23'.

Very true. A friend of mine has a place on the lower Potomac only a few miles from the bay. His 23 footer seems kind if small when the wind and tide start fighting ea other. My rig is a 1754 grizzly cc with 60/40 merc jet. I fish Susquehanna - Potomac and youghiogheny rivers. Also DEEP creek lake in western md. With wind and boat traffic at times i wouldn't want anything smaller.
