Are there any lakes in Florida with no gators?
Are there any lakes in Florida with no gators so that it would be safe to fish?

If there are any it won’t be long before there’s some in it. Even man made lakes at resorts have gators. I lived there 8 years and fish several days a week and I never saw a lake without a gator.
If your considering wading I would do some serious thinking.
The snakes I been seeing from down there I wouldn't get of my boat.
All lakes have gators at some point the crackers down here fish around gators and poke them with their rod if they get too close. The gators are looking for fish not people.
Very few. In 72 years I've only known one person to be attack by one. They now call him lefty. Think more about snakes than gators.
never been chased by a gator
been chased and attacked by cottonmouths
No !!! Stay in your boat ,you should be ok .Dont leave fish stringer in the water ,most gators will stay away from you.Use a net to get your fish out of the water .I have fished Fl. for over 50yrs. and never have had a gator come after me ,but one tried to get my dog that was swimming.
One of the lakes here in Louisiana, harbors large bass. The owners only allowed max 10hp, and NO fishing at night, due to the gators. A friend had a camp there, and was allowed to fish at night. Caught many cats and bass, by wading in waist deep of water. At night it was eyeball to eyeball with all the gators on shore. Never had a problem with them.
I grew up as a country kid in florida, wading in swamps and creeks and lakes. If you find a lake with no gators, there are no fish. Don't step on them.
Gators are not after you, maybe a dog but you are not their normal prey. They are not going to attack you because you are big enough to attack them. They would be more afraid of you. A dog is a different story.
I grew up in Florida, had alligators as pets....yeah long story
Gators won't be a problem unless you hook one, don't ask me how I know THAT ! It can easily be done at night.
Snakes can be a serious problem anytime !

Before my first trip to Florida, I ask on a forum similar to this, if I would be able to use my float tube in Florida. Got a very polite answer, from a Cracker, that I should probably leave my float tube in Missouri. I had been in our campground about fifteen minutes before I spotted a ten footer lying on the canal bank about thirty feet from where I had been told to park my fifth wheel!
Two times gators are to be stayed away from. One is when idiots have fed them like pets. Second is when they have little one. They will chase you down if you get near their babies. And they say for 40 yards they can out run a horse. I don't want to test that. Way to old and fat.
