Poured about 30 jigs. 1/2 3/8 1/4 getting ready for powder paint. Saving a little making em. I'll pull the base pins after paint and expoy weed guard in.

Those weed guards look like they don't bend.

Been pouring my own for years and yes you can save a bundle making your own. I do the silicone and hair jigs bear hair or buck tail jigs are hard to come by in any store. I normally only use a few pins then drill the paint out on the drill press but either way works, your's is one less step.

I pour mine with the weed guards in the mold. Use a piece of Copper wire soldered to a short piece of Copper pipe to hold the weed guard out of the way. When painting the heads I slide a piece of soda stray over the guards to keep the paint off ! I primer with Zinzzer stain hiding white primer to keep the paint from chipping, the only way you can get it off after it dries is grinding or burning. It is Alcohol base (Shellac ) for easy clean up. Being Shellac
you can use any type paint over it without blistering or bubbling ! This primer works on ALL jig heads not just Bass jigs.

You are welcome !

Have you ever used a powder paint? After application and baked for 15 min at 250 and let cool you literally can't beat the paint off with a hammer. I've tried so I can reuse old lead you actually have to melt the lead, it'll pore out and the paint will come off in a ball. Best paint I've ever used, a little tricky to apply but once you get the hang of it you can't beat it.

Crappie, what are the base pins for? Iโ€™ve never tried making jigs.

Base pins are put in place of weed guards. During pouring to create hole for weed guard. After paint I pull out pins put skirts on then epoxy in weed guard where the base pin was.
