Hey there, my name I am a recent transplant to WA from MN and am trying to get into fly fishing. I’m really having trouble understanding the seasons here. Some resources tell me fishing rivers is year round while the state fishing app tells me my local rivers (Green river, White river) are closed. Hopefully I can get some insight here.

Welcome to the Forum, Bbutz, where in MN.did you fish?
Get used to confusing WA regs and if you figure them out they can be changed while you are fishing, called emergency rules, when in doubt call fish and game and ask them directly. Trying to figure if you’re north of me, above White Salmon or over by Tacoma. Green River supposed to have good winter steelhead run. They don’t play on fines here. Young guy working with me mushroom hunts found a half rotted deer head and came out of the woods with it gamie tried to hit him with a felony because of the points had no gun or anything (lawyer got it dropped). Make real sure you study the different species and if they are “clipped” or hatchery or not, another $2500 game changer. On the plus side I’ve never lived somewhere with so much public access for hunting or fishing. Some big walleye in the Columbia, Welcome
