Yo Larry,
Lots of places in SD County as you mention, but be cautious about notices & appointments being scheduled at Vons locations in N. County. Several of my friends in the 65 and older age range made appointments this past week for vaccinations to happen this week. So far 5 out of 5 have been cancelled by the three Vons locations. If you have an appointment with Vons location, you might want to check with the pharmacy at the store location the day before so you don't make a long trip for nothing.
Hang in there and I wish you good health!

Thanks,
Just talked with the wife and it’s not a car drive up we are actually going inside of a Scripps medical building for the shots.
We live in Escondido so Vista isn’t that far away.
We’re in the 65 and up group.
I'm part of the Scripps Medical Plan and actually have been waiting for them to announce that they had the vaccine available. Late last night while checking my emails I noticed that they had sent me an announcement that they were finally taking appointments for my age range. They are a little late as I had already made another appointment today. It's all good though and I'm glad to be getting mine in a couple of hours from now.
Glad to hear things worked out for you!

We were able to get the appointments last night.
We’ve never had problems when we got the flu shots, hopefully these will be the same.
Well, I have had my shot, Moderna was the supplier. I had to wait 15 minutes after the injection to be sure I had no reactions. Got 4 pages of single spaced instructions. At least 4 times it said there was no FDA approval of any vaccine for Covid-19 immunications. This was a vaccine under emeergency conditions.
My arm is a liittle sore after about one hour. Just Sayhin....RJS

Forgot about that, there’s a waiting period for us also after getting the shot before we can leave.

glad you're able to get it. I'm eligible now, but haven't found anywhere that has it. I'll keep looking.
Check with a pharmacy near you. I got mine from a local one here in Clovis NM. Walgreens or CVS might be giving them.
I was strongly advised not to take it as my reaction to the swine flu shot years ago was Guillian-barre. [paralyzed for 3 months]SUCKED! Guess I better buy a big box of masks, lol!!
Sometime the "System" works!
Last night I went for my first of two vaccinations at Petco Park here in downtown San Diego. I had an appointment time of 5:45pm. I had been told by my brother-in-law who had gone to the same location the day before to go jump in the que early. I arrived about an hour before my scheduled appointment time. Getting into the designated area was the typical bumper to bumper traffic. Amazingly I actually pulled into the vaccination station right on time at 5:45. The staff at Petco Park was extremely organized and very courteous & helpful.
As for the vaccination, it was a piece of cake! The young woman who gave me the shot was really chatty & sweet. She knew what she was doing and I didn't even realize that she had given me the shot. I waited the 15 minutes to see I had any adverse reaction to the vaccine (none) and then drove home. I slept good through the night and woke up this morning feeling fine with no soreness in my arm. I also received my appointment for the 2nd vaccination in mid-February.
All in all, I found the experience to be pleasant. I also want to give a shout out to all the workers at Petco Park who worked long hours to insure that the "System" worked....many thanks, see you again in February for round two.

Check with the VA Spirit. Here in NJ they are sending out appointments.

I do not use the VA. I'm retired USN and that's a whole different ball of wax. I got on a list with the VA and they're supposed to be contacting me when a dose is available. So far, no word. I got a VA loan about 30 years ago and that's the only time other than this list I'm on that I've ever done anything with them.
They will call you with a virtual appointment to see what category you fit into. A lot of it might depend on how close you are to a VA Clinic.
i hope they do here in idaho pretty soon

Spirit - VA is going by age and risk. I'm 83 and I was among the first 200 since they started here in Texas last week. Friend of mine in middle 70's hasn't heard yet. Anchors Aweigh!
Got the first shot yesterday.
