Hi girl. Great boat, lots of fun coming up. Never get out of your vehicle on
The boat ramp until you have the vehicle in park, And, the emergency brake
Firmly on. Good luck!

We recently moved from where I was 2.5 HOURS from any above ground water (I know, the horror) to where I have two lakes and a river within 15 miles of my house. Color me happy!

I have a float tube and an inflatable boat, but with alligators possible anywhere in Texas, that wasn't going to work - and bank fishing is tough here.

So.... I just bought a bass boat! A 2021 Vexus 189C with ALL the whistles - minn kota Ultrex and Humminbird electronics in the cockpit and up front. They're taking me out on a lake with it next week, but I gotta admit, in spite of watching like 10 hours of YouTube, actually being on an 18' boat was a bit intimidating.

I've NEVER owned a boat, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! What would be the top 3 things you think I need to know?
Find a large, empty parking lot and pratice backing between the stripes. Figure angles, pivot points and mirrors. Driving through traffic towing a boat is a skill, your about 20 longer and need a bit more space. Don't forget to swing a bit wider on a corner. Hitting a curb is NOT cool! Good luck!

Thanks guys. Attaching a photo of 'Bubba'.

Always attach that motor shutoff thing to your wrist. Hold the steering wheel with both hands. At high speed it is easy to flip the boat or dump your self out. You don't want the boat running around, maybe hitting you.

Always ware your life jacket when you’re not fishing and keep all fishing gear and other stuff locked up and secure while moving

Get a battery powered bilge pump and a hand powered one, too. The Vexus team is tops in the bass boat business, as is their product. If you don’t have a ladder, have one installed. Always wear your PFD and kill switch. Be nice to the poor people.

I agree with the others and will add always keep a sharp eye on the water in front of you when running fast and never never never make a turn without checking behind you. There are many faster boats and jet skis out there and they can seem to come out of nowhere. Most of all have fun!

Good point!

Have your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings!
