I'll be moving to the Eastport/Lubec/Cutler Maine area in the Spring. I'm planning on starting to fish again (haven't in a long time). Can anyone recommend some freshwater locations? Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum, Mr.Geo, why is everyone moving out of NC to Maine? Plumbob just made the same move. He did it because of family, so, what's your excuse?
Contact the Maine DNR for info. Good Luck!
Thank you, flyguy. I'm originally from the North-East. I've been in the South (FL 17 years NC 11 years) and it was just never a good fit. My wife always liked Maine and I've read there's great fishing and NO extreme heat (I'll take the cold).

Welcome aboard MrG. I love Maine for the “lobsta”. Could eat it everyday. Did a work project up there with Irving Oil guys and killed many a “lobsta”. Enjoy the move.
Thank you Huntm22. I intend on doing a lot of "damage" to the "lobsta" population.
Welcome MrGeo. I spent a couple years in Maine in the 70's when I was in the Air Force. I was at a Radar site just North of Bangor called Charleston Air Force Station. Of course it's been a long time and I never got too far from Bangor but all the small streams had small trout, mostly Brook Trout. And the big rivers and lakes had tons of Small Mouth. In the big lakes North of there had huge Brookies, over five pounds and tons of yellow perch. I did get to Bar Harbor on the coast twice for some clam digging. I can't remember where your Eastport area is. But watch out in the spring when the Black Flies come out.
Thank you fast randy. Eastport is on the Easternmost coast of Maine, just across the Bay of Fundy from Nova Scotia. I'm looking forward to going after some Trout and Salmon. I've heard that the Black Flies can be brutal.
Any of the northern lakes are good for landlocked salmon, brook and lake trout. Troll tandem streamers. Been going up for this every year for years. Great fun.
Thank you dscot. I will definitely remember that.
