Walter Brennan,Randolph Scott and "The Duke",John Wayne. walter Brennan did not play Festus Haggin. That was Ken Curtis,Who was also a member of the Sons of the Pioneers.
Walter Brennan was on "The Real McCoys". I believe Ken Curtis was Festus.

Walter Brennan, Gabby Hayes and John Wayne
number two looks like William Boyd aka Hopalong Cassidy.

The bottom one is John Wayne
Gabby, (George), played some bad guy roles when he looked like the picture shown, then must have reinvented himself to the big scruffy beard look and partnered with John Wayne and I think other leading men.

Wasn't he Gene Autry's sidekick on the TV series??

Not sure, but when he reinvented himself I think he was in a lot bigger demand. His strong nasal speech was unique. I liked him.

He was always one of my faves....
Ken Curtis (Gates) played Festus on gunsmoke. His first grade Teacher was Elma Lovell and she had an awful time as he was always singing in class. His dad was sheriff of Bent County Colorado. Elma was my aunt (My dad's younger sister.)

Top feller (rolling the cigarette)

2nd do not recognize, would like to know tho
3rd the youngest pic of John Wayne I've ever seen.
Sorry, Kandy, but I think you have some of your 'Gunsmoke' actors
confused ! 'Festus' was played by Ken Curtis (whom you might recognize from many John
Wayne movies), the 'Mister
Dillon' line was from another character (Chester/played by Dennis Weaver); I don't recall
ever seeing Walter Brennan on 'Gunsmoke' unless he was a
guest star on an episode or two !
