Why is this happening every time I cast
I have 10lb braid on and casting a 6 gram blue fox or anything I use it always knots up. I can’t clear the knot so I have to cut it off.

It might be how you spooled the line initially.

Is it safe to unspool it and try again maybe tighter or with a mono as a base?

You can take the entire line out and try again but of it wasnt spooled correctly in the first place I think you may end up with a huge tangled mess. When you buy a new spool of line at a sporting goods store, you should be able to have them spool it for you(best result) but you're supposed to take that spool and put a pencil or something through the middle and reel the line onto your reel, the spool should spin while you're reeling the line onto your reel. If you set the spool down and reeled the line on while the spool was stationary, that will just cause the entire line to be completely twisted. I hope that makes sense.

That's pretty common with spin cast reels use a snap swivel

That’s the thing I’m using one for my spinners but just happens every 20 casts or so

Ahh that’s what I did here I put it on the ground and spooled it and every 50 turns I would turn it over or flip it. Well looks like I just might have to go buy new one and have them do it. Dam braid is so expensive

Tie your arbor knot onto your reel and toss the spoon of new line into a big pot or bowl of water so it can freely do as it wants while you spool up the reel. It allows it to flip over when it needs too so you don’t twist your line up.

Thank you for this I’m going to try this!

If you’re using spinners you’ll get this no matter what you do. Very good, expensive, swivels help. Manufacturers like Sampo make great ball bearing swivels. To fix your line, let it trail out in a river or behind a boat. Don’t put anything on the end, just let it out in the current. Once the spool is half empty, reel it in using your fingers to put tension on the line as you reel.

The only other suggestion I have is you may need to switch to a slightly bigger swivel. Or pull a bunch of line out and reel it back in while keeping tension on it. That should take out the twist that is already in the line

Get rid of the braid , use mono for the type fishing your doing ! Problem solved , braid is excellent when used properly surf , bottom , offshore !
Looks to me like it’s twisted maybe your reel is to full. If so take some line off. Use a snap swivel like the guys say.
One thing I've found that often causes this problem is using too light a lure for the line weight; either go to a heavier lure, use lighter line for those particular lures, or use your fingers on the line while reeling your lure in to create more drag, This should help minimize line twist and 'birds' nests' !
I had this problem myself until I learned to cast out as far as you can and then put pressure on the line as you reel it back onto the spool. This should be done about every ten casts in order to keep the line on the spool, otherwise the line is loosely spool on the reel and comes off in a tangle that you do not see until you retrieve the line.
