Well, I am old, but have a lot of vivid memories, I haven't told half of all the things I remember about these different trips and the different things seen. For instance, we fished until about 11: 00 in the Amazon, came back to our quarters boat and had lunch and took a short siesta. Then back out. Never to the same place, and therfe were monkeys, sloths, parrots, giant Otters, and even more things so one never got bored with the fishing and casting whether fish were biting just then. glad to see that I'm not the only one to have fished all over the world. when I was fishing I wasn't concerned about "recording" the catch. had the opportunity to fish all the east coast from PEI to Big Pine Key, including a lot of inland waters. fished the Azores, south Africa ,Viet Nam, Panama, Mexico and the everglades ( my favorite spot). I don't think I need to list my PB's as there are just too many species. I love to fish, that's what I do best. My grandfather told me whatever you want to do be the best you can possibly be. Having won enough tournaments my ego no longer needs that gratification, so I try to teach the younger generation how to be an awesome fisherman. so far 2 daughters and 2 grandsons are doing just fine. tight lines all and stay safe for a few more weeks...............
Nice list Robert, very impressive.
Nice cat WVMike, the record may have fallen, but you had it for a while, anyway. A buddy’s Dad held the Line Class World Record for muskies with a 46# 14oz fish on 14# test for many years. Not sure if it still holds...

Very impressive Mr. Samples. I've yet to weigh any of my catches except for an Alaskan Halibut - 185#. But like said previously, no pictures it didn't happen.

Nice Marlin on undersized gear, been there done that, 350 Bluefin tuna on a Penn 50 .... 6 1/2 hours off Nantucket. got it to the boat, the four of us pulled it over the gunnel and I laid down on the deck and passed out.

After being a member of Stages for this entire year and reading about the fellow members’ personal best catches, I decided to enumerate my P.B. here.
Unfortunately, in most cases there were no weights taken. In some cases, the fish was never taken out of the water, in others, there was no scale aboard to record the weight.

Good job on the pb's everybody. Really dig the WV catfish and the 8.5 smb. A 4lb smallie will humble most, a 8.5 must have been incredible
RJ’s 19# Peacock Bass really grabs my attention. Peacocks are said to be among the most agressive fish. Add the exotic location and you have an adventure you will never forget.
From the guides and outfitter for the Amazon trip to fish for Peacock Bass, they are very territorital and will attack any intruder. The use of a Woodchopper lure and its large blades making a tremendous racket and disturbance in the water cannot be tolerated.
However, you have to build up strength and stamina to continue to fish the Woodchopper correctly. I had switched over to custom lure that was a topwater bait painted like a Peacock and much easier to fish. I was "walking the dog" when I was struck by my PB and wasn't more than 3 or 4 feet from the boat. Just Sayin...RJS
