Awesome rack! (And I don't say that often,LOL)! Thanks for posting it Big.
Awesome mount. Download didn't work for me
Wow what a buck and one happy girl!
Great buck. Where did she bag that beast?
This is a re-write of an original article posted on Field and
Stream by Scott Bestul on
Dec. 22, 2020; I am posting this abridged version since the
original download didn't work !
Back in September, Paslie Werth,
a high-school freshman who is also active in tennis, track and
4-H, went out hunting with her
dad on her grandfather's farm
(somewhere in Kansas - no
further details given); they
spotted this buck just about 30 minutes before sunset and she got him with a single shot at 30 yards !
The buck, which scored slightly over 282 'green', measured out
to 271-4/8 after the mandatory
60-day drying-out period, making
it the highest-scoring whitetail
ever taken by a female hunter, as well as scoring very high in the Boone and Crockett record
books !
I read that article they also go on to say they let the Bucks get 4 to 5 years old before harvesting. her dad could have shot that buck last year but noticed a couple tines was broke off so he didn't shoot it.

True ! There was a lot more to
that article, but when my download attempt didn't work out, I posted a much-abridged version for this Forum !
That's the buck the girl shot last year

Oops ! Must-a missed that
caption ! Obviously not the same buck; the photo was put up along with the more current ones !
Should have noticed the
difference as this one was
'typical', whereas the current one was definitely a 'non-typical'; just didn't look at it closely enough !
Still, for a young girl, she's quite the huntress !
