Hi all, This is Mike aka Big Papi. After a 10 year hiatus I picked the fishing bug back up this year thanks to COVID with some great days and lots of not so great days. But like a wise fisherman once said, a bad day of fishing is better than most good days of not fishing! Looking forward to learning and sharing tips, stories, and hot spots, and hopefully make a few fishing buddies.

Welcome Popeye. I also live in Manchester.
Think you'll really enjoy this site, I certainly have. Bunch of great guys and gals, lot of experience, good tips and info. Also good jokes and even some inspirational stuff. All of my past fishing has been salt and offshore but change in location, age, and no boat has changed that. Thinking about trying fresh water in the spring.
Again, welcome

Mostly from bank and shore, but I'll occassionally take a charter or accept a boat invite when the weather's right and the actions good.

Welcome Popeye, from ‘ other CT. angler. I don,t fish ice anymore but hope you do. @ 71 y.o. I don’t really care for the cold. Went into Connecticut River in Feb. of 1999, and luckily lived. Cured me of most winter fishing ( around here ). You will like this site, great members, and lots of good advice.

Welcome from a fellow Ct fisherman. Great fishing everywhere and you’re right-everything is in reach. I’m by the sound but I prefer the privacy of lakes and rivers. Where I live a lot of the rivers and lakes are surrounded by private land but there’s always a way in. State of Ct has a great fishing guide of the state parks. There’s also a fishing app called Fishbrain that has a lot of Ct guys in it. They post their catches. The premium choice gives you the spots on the lake or River and gear they used. Good luck!
