I just got word early this evening...moments ago....in a phone conversation with another brother of mine that both he and his wife have been stricken with the Coronavirus. He sounded terrible, and has underlying conditions of COPD & emphysema. He is sixty-eight years old, his wife a bit older.

Here we go again.

Mrs. JimRed and I have been infected and recovered. Someone said that means we will not need the vaccine.

I searched the question, and found this:

Do you need a COVID-19 vaccine if you’ve already had the virus?

In short: It’s not totally clear — yet. But from what we do know, many experts are suggesting yes

In other words, even if we don't need it, they ("experts") want to sell us a dose anyway!

Sorry to hear that BF. Your brother and sister-in-law are in my prayers. Are your family members in high risk areas? Seems like out of proportion, or bad luck?

Fred, I've a brother in Amarillo, plus members of his family...adults and children who have it. My sister and her husband in Lubbock caught it, plus several of their family in the area...adults and children. Now, this latest episode has hit another brother and sister-in-law in Abilene. For those who don't know, all of these three cities are well populated and in the panhandle and below area of West Texas. All told my family has about a dozen (that I know of) afflicted with the virus. My sister barely pulled out of it, and is in the process of recovery (knock on wood) as are her family members. The brother whom we lost in October, however, was the victim of cancer.

I am somewhat of a state of shock, as I am older than all of 'em. But, I live in very much of a rural part of the state and as of now, my wife and I are virus-free. Luckily, none of my children (all adults) or grandchildren have been hit by Covid. Our other two brothers and sister remain free from infection.

Again, knock on wood.

I would have to say, bigger cities are not the place to be. Take care of yourself and the Sgt Major, and for God's sake stay out of crowds. Hoping for the best for all your family.

I pray that your folks get through it as well as we did. God has been better to us than we deserve.

This vaccine was rushed, there are already problems with side effects, it is called the “practice” of medicine so practice on someone else. I have several medical issues and don’t see a reward greater than risk for me. To each his own.

Well, we should all agree on the one thing: "To each his own."

Jim & others: After talking with my sister today, I am thrilled to report that she says our Family members in both Lubbock and Amarillo are getting good, positive feedback from their doctors. However, my brother and his wife in Abilene are still in rough condition.
