Some folks have a lot of trouble backing up with a trailer on behind, this guy just didn't want the onlookers to see his inability to do it.

If he would have made it another 10 feet he could have launched his boat.

I said he but it could also have been a her.

My Brother and his family were on a family outing at Lake Tahoe maybe 15 years ago when they were fueling their ski boat at a marina when a pretty blonde girl pulls up on her jet ski and asked if they knew anything about them? She said it ran okay, but expected more speed when they noticed the trailer was still strapped beneath the unit...

Read a story one time about a couple bought a new pontoon. Launched it drove it around and found sluggish operation.
They called the dealer who sent a mechanic to the dock
He got in the water to inspect the prop. He found the trailer still connected to the boat.
That’s a whole truck load of dumbass

Pontoon boat can be hard to load on trailer in a cross wind but I never thought about leaving the trailer attached LOL. DON’T THINK I WILL TRY IT THOUGHT

When do you release the boat??????????

Boy you can tell it's Saturday morning. Now for a straight answer.
Unhook the back trailer straps, back into the water so that the front of the boat is at the waters edge, secure the front bow rope - preferably with your partner, or secure (with slack) to dock or other secure tie down. Unclip both trailer clips on the front of the boat. Now back into the water until your wheels are covered and hit your brakes and it should slide right off. Also, do make sure all motors are tilted up first.

Good luck - it is truly one of those things in life where practice makes perfect.

I have seen guys with little FWD cars start the boat to help the car pull it up the ramp.

For gods sake don’t wire that fart sucking seat backward !!!
Sudden Reverse flow of a couple years of sucked farts will make you and your passengers puke in your mouth !!!

I have a hitch on the front of my Ford 1100 tractor. I do not use a rear hitch on it. It is so easy to back a trailer anywhere when it is in front of you. Reaction to any steering corrections is much more pronounced that if using a rear hitch. By the way I grew us backing trailer all my life with rear hitches and am excellent at it. I don't have a front hitch on my pickup when I launch a boat or backing a trailer with the pickup. Your Granddad was just making it easy on himself. I have seen several pickup with front hitches. Smart Granddad.
