Since Covid I have noticed a lot of short strikes. Hook up ratio seems off .
Even though I have top of the line gear and am anal about hook sharpness , I’ve had difficulty connecting
Now I understand why
Yeah, I've yet to catch a single one this year.
Year's not over yet Spirit.

I knew there had to be a reason

I got no idea, but like the flytier said, the year ain't over yet. I'm pretty sure there's one at Collins Lake that's been calling me for couple of weeks now. Gotta get up there next week.

Spirit... you need to go with Cal Kellogg that guides on Collins lake. They have been catching some nice ones the past couple of weeks and if you go to his site you can see the 12 plus pound rainbow hisclient got last week.
I've run into Cal a couple of times in my travels. Seems like a nice guy. I don't know what's up with this skunk folks. I've been fishing up here and around here for 20+ years now, I've always caught fish and been successful every where I've gone. Suddenly I need a guide? No I haven't changed my soap or my deodorent. I'm wearing pretty much the same clothes I've always worn. Using the same bait and fishing in the same places. For some reason, the fish have been avoiding me. Collins, Scott's Flat and Stumpy Meadows have always been real good to me. Not this year.
