sorry not to have written way too much going on
To start they drained like they do every year about this time the private huge lake we live in (inPA) its nearly 400 acres and covers 2 counties. In order to fix the private and lake owners docks. Got my boat out and all cleaned up and ready for next year. That is if they don't start on the dam project which they will, then drain the lake completely. The state of PA is making then do it. We figure besides the loss of all the fish it will take 2 years for the project to be completed and a total of 10 years to put the lake back eco wise. So fishing may be out of the question. And because the motor on the boat is 30 hp and all the surrounding lakes have a 20-25 hp limit. Im at ends what to do with the boat we just bought this year (24ft pontoon) I do have a 5hp and ponder if they do go ahead with the project to use that. I can hear the wifey now ------------u had ta get a boat ehhhhh
especially the best lakee is close to 2 hr away and towing a pontoon boat can be nerve wracking in PA transit. GAAAAAHHH

OH well there is always hunting least I thought so bought a new crossbow but the person I was to go with bugged and out and because I'm handicapped I don't dare go alone

I surrender

Well it looks like a long winter and with the gov closing everything a boring one too. OH well looks like it's time to take up a new hobby of carving animals on gun stocks or playing solitaire------------boring

Probably wont die thank the lord from the virus --------just bore-de-dub-men

Change the sticker on the side of the motor. Heat it up and peel it off and put a 25 hp sticker in its place. Back in action.

Three in a row, but I'd go with a 20hp decal. It's not like you have a 150 , it's only a white lie in my book.
We have a couple small hp lakes, that let you use your trolling motors if you're over the max.
Then we have a few 10mph lakes,my personal preference.
But we have one with a 135hp limit??? Anything over has to use trolling motor only! Now a 16 or 17 footer with a 135 is going to go just as fast as a 21 with a 250. I don't get it!

It’s called control Fred. And who patrols it anyway. If your going to install rules then why not install a speed limit and then everyone can use the lake or river etc. IMO

Might be able to pick up a20 or 25 hp cowl for your motor. Had people do that around here for 10hp lakes.

A few years ago I took my boat to a small lake north of here that I'd heard good things about but had never fished. When I found a boat ramp there was a sigh that said " no gasoline motors, trolling motors only". I couldn't pull my 8 1/2 hp Honda & leave it in the bed of the truck for someone to steal so I left the motor raised out of the water & left the gas tank in my truck. I fished a while with my trolling motor & had good luck catching some nice Kentucky's. I went back to my truck for a sandwich & a lake patrolman showed up. He gave me a warning ticket for my gas motor even though it was inoperable. He said I made an honest attempt but my boat still had a gas motor on it. I mentioned the small state park lakes that had a 10 HP limit but if you raised your over 10 HP motor out of the water & used your trolling motor you were OK. The kind patrolman let me know I wasn't on a state lake, it was a city lake. Sometimes I think we try too hard. Tight lines.

I hear you Dave, and I agree completely. They DO have a Lake Patrol center console (with a 125hp Merc) and I've seen them board boats. Uniforms look like town police.

My buddy that guides on the Kenai did the Cowling on his when they went from 50 to 35 hp. Next thing they did was change to 4-stoke only but it got him by for a couple years. Hard to try to pass a two-stroke for a four-stroke so he had to cough up for a new motor or quit.

Yeah Hunt, that's a tough one to pull off. That's the next one coming nationwide,4 stroke only, hopefully not for a while.
