Swift CreeK Reservoir. I put in at a private boat launch on the northwest side of the lake. I don’t know of any public launches.
Nice fish! I'm in Midlothian.
Dwieds, do you fish for stripers on SML ?

Bass want to fatten up before winter so now has been pretty good. Water temp is right around 60. When it gets below 55 the bite is slower. But yea we catch large blue Gill on small baits and sometimes some perch. I only use live bait when I’m bank fishing but it’s a good way to catch em. Hope this helps.
Thanks my sister and I only bank or pier fish we will give it a try

Nice bass ! If you're a Virginia native or have lived there awhile, I'm sure you know your way around, but I have a suggestion
(if I may); when I lived in Roanoke
(2008-09) I heard/read quite a bit
about a place called Briery Creek
Lake ! It was reportedly THE lake to fish in Virginia for trophy-sized largemouth, with (supposedly)
considerable, decent shoreline
access (important to us land-bound fishermen); since you have a boat, your access should allow you to net some really nice bass, should you choose to try it ! If you're NOT familiar with it, it is located about 15-20 minutes south of Farmville, or about an hour-and-a-half from the Richmond area ! Whatever you decide, good luck to you, and
keep haulin' in those hawgs !
Tight lines !

Yup I heard the same thing so my buddies and I took my 14’ alumacraft with front and rear trolling motors to Briery Creek Lake last spring. We thought we would kill em. But fished it ALL DAY and didn’t get a bite. We tried everything we had and nothing. The other problem with the lake is all of the stick-ups. We about ripped the trolling motors off the boat and they were just below the surface and couldn’t see them till u hit em. I’ve heard great things about the lake so we’ll probably go back next spring and try again.

Sorry for your difficulties tryin' to fish that lake; seems the
write-ups tend to omit or
overlook such potential
problems ! It DID say that more trophy bass (over 12 pounds)
were caught there than any/all
Virginia lakes in a 5-year period, many in the 16-lb. range ! All
lakes have good and bad days, even well-reputed 'trophy lakes',
so hopefully your next attempt
will be more successful ! Good luck, good health, and tight lines
to you !
