Where did all the bluegill go?

I currently live in western washington. I have a strange addiction to bluegill fishing. My wife also loves to fry em up. My local lake that is PACKED with gills in the spring/summer has not been producing for me. I can't find them! I've tried deep, shallow, everything.

How can I find these suckers!?!?

I don't know what it's like out in Washington, but here in Northern Virginia the bluegill bit stops around November. I think they get very lethargic and just stop eating. I have had some luck when there are a few warm days consecutively but for the most part I never have luck for them this time of year.

I’ve had luck fishing for them on the bottom like I do for catfish using night crawlers.

2 weeks ago we marked big schools on depth finder in 42 ft while looking for crappie.
Caught several nice ones before moving on
They are probably deep where you are
Slip bobber Probly ain’t the way to go

In northern states we catch gills thru the ice. In shallow water sometimes 6ft or less. There still there and hungry. But there metabolism does slow down with colder water.
