I have a plan that requires approximately 25 spinning rods/reels, but I do not want to spend a lot of money on them.
They should be a rod between 6' to 6'6" and be general purpose (something around medium power/fast action ideally). All will be spooled with 8lb mono, which will probably be around $70-$90 for line.
Ideally they will be $30 at the most per combo.
Any suggestions?

What are you using 25 of the same combo for? You can't fish with that many lines.

Ohio DNR. Your limited to 2 lines per person. So unless you got 13 people fishing it's illegal to use that many lines. Page 17 of the rules and regulations guidebook.

That doesn't apply in this case, so no worries.

I would be more judicious in my wording when telling someone they 'can't' do something. I would find out where they are fishing and then remind them that there might be a limit to the number of rods. It is different from the shore and from a boat in most locations.
Hello ikwj. I am curious and I am sure others are also. Do you mind telling us why so many outfits? My first thought was that you are sponsoring some kind of fishing derby. Maybe for the kids. You really can't ask a question like that and not expect some follow questions. Thanks for any reply.
