I purchased 1 last year and works fine, this one can be tied to a line and cast out, shows depth, temp, bottom read out as well.

I have an iBobber for a couple of years now. It works within its limitations. Its bluetooth so only about 30ft range. It reads bottom well and spots fish. Uses battery on your phone a lot.

It's called Lucky, get it at Amazon, the sensor and handheld are rechargeable and work for 6 or so hours

From the bank or boat ? Not familiar with "castables", but in my small boats I use a "Fishin'Buddy", built-in transducer, clamp on gunwales or transom. Works great off "C" cell batteries...all day, for several outings.
Not sure what $$$price these days, but fairly cheap in today's high-falootin' tech-crazy market.
Fine example...my buddy has about $1000 MORE in his electronics ON his boat than I have IN TOTAL for my nice little Livingston lake boat with trailer and Tohatsu & Minnkota motors....and yet, doesn't seem to catch more or "better" fish than I do !

Can use casting or tie off on the boat and use at slow speeds, I've used mine both ways, also has fish id and alarm.

I had a piranha max portable and loved it
Bought my brother one for Christmas last year and he loves it
Obviously not top of the line but gives you good info on bottom. Depth and can mark fish.
Handy little deal
If I were to take a fly in trip , I would borrow my brothers

I also bought an underwater camera, that gives depth and temp as well, the best part is seeing what's down there, my first time used it as it neared the bed of the lake I saw fish swimming there.

I purchased the lucky fish finder from Amazon. Used from the pole and also tied to the raft. Works good for the price. Especially nice when you are at a new place and want to know how deep and what the bottom looks like. It shows fish and even the water temperature. It won't catch them for you though. But glad I bought it.
