Mauricec; Do a little research. What do catfish in NC eat mostly? If they go to McDonalds, get a McDonalds! I suspect they are primarily dining on perch, or sunfish and next is probably crawfish or minnows. So of those three, which can you get readily? or which do you have that is an artifical lure? Those would be my first choice.
Now, I don't know if perch or sunfish are legal in NC. Don't break the law, it is too expensive. However, if sunfish are legal, then take a line, float and small hook, along with some earth worms, catch you a few perch, or sunfish, then use those for bait. You won't need a lot, maybe only 3 or 4 and i believe you will have a greand time. Dont let em pull you into the water! Just Sayin....RJS

Welcome to the Forum, Maurice, listen to Hunt. We have a lot of members from NC. but if you don't put your location down on your profile page, they probably won't reply.
Maurice welcome to FS. I would imagine that catfish will eat about the same as they do about anywhere in the USA they are found. Channels like chicken livers, hot dogs, worms live and cut bait. Flathead and blue cats especially the bigger ones like live bait the size of your hand or cut into big chunks. We don't have skipjack's here around the Wichita and surrounding area but back east they use them there. Can't help you on where to go fishing.

I think cats in NC are hooked on Crystal Burgers. But I'd try bacon.
Hey FS here in carolina fat dead minnow, bluegill, or piece of wiffey's panty hose stuffed full of fresh chicken liver with a couple of 1/8'' slits on sides if ur keepin'em. Them panty's wont come off usually. You can catch multiple fish off one piece of hose liver. cut out the toe portion of hose, stuff full and tie off. Works well with any hook but trebble is best.
