The rod would be sticking out the passenger or maybe driver's window so it doesn't get broke ( at least for a few trips anyway ). Lunch you described good would be good especially because one of my favorite scents to add to bait is the juice in a smoked oyster can after they are all eaten.

I might not be on the stage a few days or more so I will name three Normal Fisherman.

1 Bottomcoon : normal because I have read some of your fishing stories on here and appreciate you sharing them here.

2 Egghead : Normal and then some. I met him and went on some really fun adventures for two days straight. A gentleman and a Scholar. A very smart Man and a very kind sir. You dont find many like him in this world anymore.

3 Me : Probably abnormal in a lot of people's eyes because I am not super concerned with impressing people much. I have fished for all sorts of fish in many places. I have had to have my fishing rods hanging out windows getting bugs stuck to them on the freeway many times because I haven't always had Jeeps or full size 4x4 to tow boats around and fish with the NORMAL types. :)

4 Bonus just for Coon. Saw1. we all see his posts quite often. I also have a lot of respect for the guy because i see his kindness in sharing his boat and abilities to help others catch or learn how to fish in his region.

To be honest I see a lot of people on here that are actually not normal because they don't act selfish. It is sad but I see a lot of people in life that are pretty selfish anymore. I wasn't raised that way and i think it is a sad state of affairs. If i am not mistaken wasn't it you and Mister Twister Joking about a bench at a fishing hole a year or two ago BC? Like if the moon would be in view from it or something? I might take the laptop where I am going with mama for several days but i also may leave it home.

Thanks for the challenge BC. Hopefully i delivered what you were after.

You did good jeremy, especially your evaluation of Saw. He really seems like the kind of guy you'd want to ride the river with. I hope you & Egghead can make the meet & great in Kansas. Saw will be there. Mister Twister & i shared many stories both on & off the stage. He was a kind generous man & he is sorely missed. I've been accused of a lot of things but being normal was never on the list. Even my own grandson figured it out this summer. We were sitting in my truck waiting on Mrs Coon as usual. I dug in my console for a Leatherman tool & gave it to him. He commented on how sharp the blade was. I preached to him about caring for a knife & the necessity of keeping it sharp & that his dad had all the sharpeners to do it. I then reached in the console & pulled out a large knife with a 9 inch blade. I laid it across my arm & shaved off a patch of hair & told him to keep his Leatherman like that. I put the knife back then reached under the seat & pulled out a hatchet. I removed the cover & shaved another patch of hair off my arm. He looked at me & said "grandpa I always thought you were normal but no normal person keeps a knife like that & especially a razor sharp hatchet under his seat". We had a good talk. He's 14 & loves to
fish. It saddens me that he's enrolled in Navy Jr ROTC. If he makes a fighter pilot I could be OK with it.

Jeremy, I'll give you three full days to think about it then you must post the name of a "normal" fisherman. If we were normal
we'd probably drive a Honda car with no trailer hitch & no place to put a dog box. The car wouldn't be 4 wheel drive & a 7 foot rod just won't fit inside. You wouldn't consider a meal of smoked oysters on Ritz crackers with squeeze cheese on top washed down with a can of warm V8 juice as mighty fine eating. You just wouldn't be you. Normal just ain't right.

I was so sleepy last night. My son got married yesterday. I misread the instructions. I sawthe three days and i automatically thought I needed to post 3 normal fisherman.

Not normal would be Saddened that he is in the Naval ROTC. You should be happy you Abnormal Fisherman :). The cool thing about things like giving a Grandkid your Leatherman is awesome. It is something that he will never forget. I have had many Leathermans. I have lost one in a lake. The rest just seem to disappear.

Lot of good fishing down here. Pine island sound has great snook, trout and redfish but we are C + R until the end of may. Boca Grande pass and Gasparilla island has good fishing all around it. Blind pass is a great area for trout and pompano and sheepshead. If you have a boat that can get out 20 - 90 miles grouper and snapper are plentiful. Plenty of good fishing in the area you just have to get out and find the spots. Boca Grande is the tarpon capitol of the world and there are Goliath grouper and plenty of sharks and jacks in the area.

I believe the guy that started this was asking a serious question. Isn’t there a section called chit-chat for all the rest if you that can’t answer seriously?

If the guy did not assume we all knew what ( SWF ) was for it might have gone the way it was intended. Just like the Stripper vs Striper. A little levity wont hurt anyone.

My first thought on SWF was "some where fishing". We've all been there. I just hope we didn't run the guy off that posted SWF. A man's got to learn to take a joke.

I don’t think he assumed you all would know what SWF ( South West Florida) meant but I think he assumed that the FISHERMEN who lived in this area and knew what it meant could give him some answers. The ones that know nothing about fishing this area should have just butted out. I hope the next time you are looking for a serious answer to one of your questions you get the same answers.
