trying to find a homemade bait or grocery store bait from grocery store. I don't like to run hook through live bait. This would be a bait that Largemouth Bass would go after. I have tried chicken liver & beef liver & canned corn but mostly have caught carp & catfish. I don't keep the fish which I catch. They are released.
One thing I'm consistantly good at is losing expensive lures and have lost 4 combo fishing rods & reels.
Seems the lures get snagged after I cast.

try a finesse or trick worm on a 1/0 offset worm hook , gamakatsu.. texas or mojo rigged. or wacky .Zoom has both . seems the little finess worm works when other stuff doesnt. you can fish it wacky w/o a weight on a spinning outfit

I have tried all kinds of lures, also the wacky worm with no luck. Maybe I should try the different colors of worms. Of course, being summertime doesn't seem to be very good to fish. I go to a public lake every morning when I can, and fish for a few hours.

Stink baits work good for bottom fish like catfish and mudfish! Gotta step up some for midwater catch`s , try plastic swim baits in mid water column or surface lure in wee hours AM/PM. More aggressive fishing not just bottom watch with all them snags.

People are misunderstanding what kind of bait I want to buy. I don't want to stick a live bait to catch fish, I think that would be too painful for the worm or minnow. I thought maybe someone would know if I could make a homemade bait or buy a homemade bait just for bass fishing. There are plenty of baits for catfish & carp. I have no trouble catching them! I want a homemade bait specifically for Bass. I've never seen anything in a package to catch Bass. There has to be someone who has a recipe or maybe they want to keep it a secret. I also do not want to use fishing lures if I can make a homemade bait recipe.

I would think if someone had a bait like that to catch bass it would be for sale and they would be rich.

Just a thought.

I think you are right. Maybe I could make one up and someone would package it. Might even get rich off my new bass bait recipe.

You could try putting a cork on a plastic swim bait and wait for an occasional bite! Bass are aggressive feeders and want something to chase down and eat! Dare say pass on any stinky thing just sitting there, not their style at all! What they leave for the catfish and turtles to finish. Good Luck

Shape it like a fish or snake and put hooks in it.

Kinda like chicken dinosaurs or nuggets.

Bass are predators and prefer small fish like sunfish and perch. They may be curious if you use a stink bait but they most likely won't eat it. Bass aren't catfish and they aren't carp. Those fish are omnivores; bass are carnivores. If you don't want to use live bait and aren't able to catch bass on artificial lures then you may just have to forego bass fishing. Have you thought about vegetable gardening?

You have a kind heart,, but I dont think a worm is developed enough to feel pain. Dont think fish do either.
You got to remember also,, that your sticking a hook in the bass if you catch it,and theres no guarantee it will be a lip hook, just a thought
