Welcome to the Forum, Mattyj81. Sorry, I can't help you out, I'm from MN. It doesn't look like you need a lot of help, that is a very nice fish. How many pounds?

Did you get this off the beach or in a boat? What lure did you use? Looks to be around 25-30#. Good fish!

Virginia dept of game and inland fisheries controls all fishing regs for all but one fish, menhaden. Why does the legislature control the menhaden and not their own Game Commission

Ask omega proteins you say? Graft and corruption in the Virginia government. We only have a 400 year history of it. We could be catching more and bigger rockfish, and others too. Do you find stomachs full of mud and plastic up there? I drove my beach buggy all the way to boston ( daughter's cello audition) and all the way out the cape, beach closed? WTF passed zero tackle shops. Whale watching seemed hip...

Menhaden (called bunker in nj) need protection - they are a big part of the food chain. Should limit or even stop their use for making WD-40.
