I hook them through the lips
Back when I was a kid, we hooked minnows thru the back, behind the dorsal fin. I have no idea about what was correct. That was just the way we did it. Just Sayin...RJS
I do lips for casting and trolling, back under a bobber.
I follow Iowa Farmer's methods. When trolling or fishing in current I hook the minnows through both lips, from the bottom up. When fishing stationery I hook the minnow through the back and suspend
it under a bobber. I have seen some fisherman hook the minnow underneath near the tail so they struggle to right themselves and create an injured presentation which sometimes works. Don.
Agreed with Iowa Farmer, but will try the underbelly this winter ..
I use both ways, some days crappy like it a different way. Have even had to hook tail.
Usually the lips. Seem to live longer.
I hook them through the eye sockets. Does anyone else do that? They seem to live a long time.
In through the mouth , out at the back of the head or through the eyes or behind the dorsal fin. All three work
