I guess you are right. They are here only in a sedated manner, with their claws locked with a rubber band and in a glass tank. In the water I believe they are. When they get big they need the neutral buoyancy to make them seem lighter. On land they would have a harder time moving fast. At that size, those claws will break your arm. I used to know lobstermen who lost fingers to 3 or 4 pounders. Their claws are like gator jaws,no strength opening, but closing WATCH OUT. That's why rubber bands can hold them closed. In the old days they pegged them with wedges of wood, but found out that wasn't needed.

I say false albacore. If those things grew up to be even 100 lbs that would be incredible. If they were bluefin size they’d rule the world. Falsies make insanely fast runs and go for a long time for rarely getting over ten lbs

Too many choices fir me. The most fun I've had was using a 4wton hickory shad. They look like and fight like a 100 lb tarpon on a 14wt. The hardest figting would have to go to either a yellowfin tuna or amberjack coming out of 200 feet of water.

For a truly great fight I would have to say a amberjack and add in a bluefish too.

Something I have always wondered what true fisherman think. Pound for Pound, what fish is the hardest fighting fish?

I have never caught a sword fish, but I have read many stories about guys fighting them for 24hrs+. I have caught marlin, yellowfin, bluefin and yellowtail. Out of those, would have to go for yellowtail. However, if you hook a truly big marlin that sounds, you are in for a battle. Speakin from experience there.

My experience it’s been adult king Salmon is a River. 20 plus pounders.

Any fish on the end of my line at any given time, even if I am fishing in the minnow bucket.

Depends on the tackle.

Pound for pound I think a channel cat can pull harder than a king salmon. Salmon may move around more, but a 10 pound cat is like trying to lift an anchor with your rod.
