Wood ear ?? I love mushrooms but you wont get me to eat that
Always wanted to learn different mushrooms as many grow in my yard. One year a huge, white soccer ball sized grew and when I threw it in the gutter for trash they wouldn't take it, thought it was a kid's ball, lol!

It was, it's called a puff ball. My brother-in-law eats them but I don't.

Chicken on the woods or Sulphur Shelf ,Laetiporus sulphureusv, pretty recognizable because of the color normally orange to yellow with a lighter yellow on the edges. These rooms will not have gills, ever and are quite good eating. they will grow from wood either standing or laying, If you find them go back in a couple months and there should be more.
I known the woods are full of edible mushrooms but at my level of knowledge I'll get them from the grocery store.

Looks like ‘hen of the woods’ or ‘chicken’ mushroom. Another good one to look for is the sulfur shelf. I also saw 7 ‘vase puffball ‘ mushrooms along the parkway this week. Yup, this is the season.
It is chicken of the woods Ivey really nailed this one
Electronics. I have not eaten that mushroom but I have heard of them. I have harvested many Chanterelle Mushrooms. Look similar without so much of the orange. I have harvested in Fall ( they usually will show up after 3 or so days of heavy rain ). I like diced onions some garlic and oil or butter pan-fried just long enough to cook through. Serve as main dish or meat / protein by itself or in addition to other sides or meats etc. Very good and healthy but be sure what mushrooms you consume. Deadly if get wrong type.
Now is the time to harvest chickens in my area
Friend found some last week we had them with nice big ribeye

Try cooking with fresh marjoram and garlic. I can't eat them without it anymore

We like them cut into strips and sautéed in butter with onions and peppers, man guess I'll have to get out in the woods and start hunting. Haven't had any since I moved to the lake.
