Wanna try my hand at drop shotting but any fluro I have is ancient and my set up is with braid.
Is it really that important?

It's really important. You can use mono though

It's not like you wouldn't catch any fish, but on the tougher days/smarter fish it could make all the difference.

Your leader is very important, it is the closest part of your tackle to your bait. Besides the hook. Also my final lead is 5 to 10 Lbs. lighter so, depending on the rig, I'll just lose the hook if hung up & not the whole thing. In the rivers I fish there are alot of stone and rock outcropping so my leaders are allways mono it seems to hold up better and disapears in the water very well. Rite now I'm using red mono and catching fish.
