I use stren. The casting is excellent. I also use reel magic on it to help with the memory.

Thanks Rob, is 10 lb braid equivalent to 10 lb mono?

My favorite is Suffix 832, but it is expensive.

The 832 is very good but not worth the cost to me. Never had any issue with the Power Pro and now the PP Super Slick.

Plum, I’m no expert for sure and someone correct me please if I’m wrong. Braid is thinner than mono for equivalent lb test rating. However, in my experience braid is much stronger than it’s lb test rating. For example, when I troll for walleye/trout in my real boat (lol one with motors), not knocking kayaks either cuz I want one, anyway when I get snagged up with 8 lb braid Fireline the 10 or 12 lb test leaders will almost always break off before the mainline.
So that thinner diameter helps for longer casts, braid also tends to float more too, if that matters depending on what you’re doing, like drifting with bobbers. And I sure think it has way less memory than mono.

Power pro moss grn is what Ive always used but a few months ago I grabbed a spool of J-Braid x4 20lb because it was all they had in 20lb. I have to say I think I like it as much as P'pro and it was only $9 and change.

I have tried just about all the braided lines. They are excellent for spinning reels with FC leaders for fishing slow presentations. Don't need leaders with hard baits. When guiding with novices on board, braided line is the only way to go.

I have been a supporter of Power Pro until I found out it was made in China, so no MORE!!!!

Last year I used Power Pro, this year I switched to Seaguar(both colors). The Seaguar seems smoother and quieter going through the eyes on the rod.

Power Pro for everything except ice fishing. 10 pound test is my go to line. 80 pound test on my musky rig.
