TonyB,

I live in Essex County in saltwater country, but I love to fish freshwater. Aren't you near Wachusett Reservoir? I hear it is quite good for Smallmouth Bass. Have you checked out:

Hey Tony, I was thinking about coming up to Congamond earlier in the summer. I asked for any Bay Staters information, and I got 0 ZIP NADA ! So good luck.

Hi Tony
I'm a mass guy. lake cochituate is a good spot, boat or shore. also both the rivers out by you produce some nice trout in April -May. I fish mostly salt water and fresh water on the cape.

if you're ok with a little ride the east side of great island in Chamaubung.....................is a nice spot. Also over in Uxbridge the west river both above and below the Dam (depending on what you're looking for.)

Thanks Rip, I was gonna bring my tin boat up there, and launch near Saunders. What is the lowdown on the "Lead ban ". From what I could decipher, only jigs over 1oz (saltwater?) are allowed. Does that mean any lures with lead in them are banned, like bass jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits etc.? Or they referring only to sinkers and such?

it's been an ongoing debate. currently they are only referring to sinkers and split shot as there is a higher risk of losing them in the water(really?) lures etc are not excluded as they think they don't get lost (really?) besides that they don't have enough personnel to enforce this, so fish with what you have and don't worry about it. If one actually reads the lengthy regulation it contradicts itself 3 times. The only BS we need right now is Beer and Sunshine. good luck (fish down wind)

Thanks for the info Rip. I didn't want to get popped (having out of state reg.and plates) but I don't wanna have to empty out half my tackle either. Maybe I'll give it a try next month. Thanks again.
