Question, we usually set on the patio and watch the sunset, and the last three nights the sun turns a very reddish, orange just before it sets. Is that due to the fires out on the West Coast area? Any idea? Have you witnessed the same thing?

It is from whatever is in the air out there flyguy. Could be smoke or dust or whatever. It has been red here every evening for the last two weeks, rising and setting.

Thank you, Wulffy. I havn't noticed it when it's rising, but I'm usually driving in a Easterly direction and I think I would. I will have to wake up and pay attention.

It would make sense to be the fires. That's a lot of crud in the air and would definitely give a pretty red glow. We get it here regularly but we just call it pollution since we collect what the rest of the country puts up there natural or otherwise. 76* now and going to mid 80s. We missed the rain last night some went north and the rest went south. Happens that way a lot in my little corner of the world.
Good morning everyone.
Everybody stay safe with the Fires and the Storms in the gulf.

Hump day. π
Sorry about all the smoke and fires near you.
We actually had some lightning strike fires start here in the Olympic National Forest but they got them out almost immediately.
The Olympics are considered a rain forest so they are pretty wet most of the time.
